baliEast Bali is far from the maddening crowds of Kuta and Legian, and is full of small villages, where life has changed very little over the centuries. With dramatic scenery, pristine water and achingly beautiful rice paddies,East Bali is a must to visit for those seeking the “Real”Bali. Here you will witness the preservation of the Balinese customs, and have the opportunity to experience a way of life that is steeped in tradition and history, whether it be fishing with our local fisherman in the traditional “jukung”(fishing boat), trekking through the rice fields whilst the farmer tends his crops, or visiting or joining in with the many ceremonies of our local villages. One such village, Tenganan, the home of the famous double ikat weave, is a ten minute drive…or half an hour bike ride away! In this tiny society, clothing is central to religious ritual, and here you will  still see some families painstakingly fashioning this delicate ikat cloth.

Villa Perle is also located 15 minutes from Padang Bai,where ferries leave daily for Lombok and the Gillie Islands.

If snorkeling or diving are your passions, the waters surrounding us are teeming with underwater beauty. Candi Dasa, Amed and Tulamben are well known to those seeking the pristine waters of our glorious area.

Should  you wish to visit Ubud, the cultural centre of Bali, the drive will take approximately one and a half hours. Here art and shopping prevail amongst busy markets, smart restaurants, cafes and galleries.

Two of the island’s most important temples-Lempuyang and Besakih, the island’s mother temple are also located in East Bali. Luhur Lempuyang is one of Bali’s sad kahyangan (six temples of the heavens). The mountain itself can be climbed in the morning.Besakih bestrides the south western flanks of Mt Agung, Bali’s sacred mountain.Mt Agung rises magestically behind Villa Perle.

East Bali offers beauty and tradition in abundance.
